Have you ever heard of private consumption?
Have you heard about private consumption?
Well, it turns out that in April it grew by 3.5% compared to the same month last year.
But here's the funny thing! While spending on goods of national origin decreased by 0.7%, those of imported origin increased by 12.4%! How crazy!
It seems that our domestic market is reactivated, but what about national products? We need to support what is made in Mexico!
But it's not all bad, folks. It turns out that gross fixed investment also grew in April, up 7% compared to last year! Although there are interesting contrasts here as well. Construction barely grew by 0.1%, but machinery and equipment rose by 16.6%. What does this mean? Well, we may be building less, but we are investing in technology to be more efficient. That's good! But let's not forget about residential construction, which fell 10% due to rising mortgage rates. We need to make it more affordable for everyone!
And speaking of contrasts, did you know that domestic and imported machinery and equipment grew almost the same? 15.3% and 16.7%, respectively! It seems that we are investing in technology regardless of its origin. That's good! But let's not forget to support domestic industry as well.
In short, friends, Mexico is a country full of contrasts. We have a reactivated domestic market, but we need to support national products. We are investing in technology, but we need to make residential construction more accessible. And we are investing in machinery and equipment regardless of their origin, but let's not forget our national industry!
Let's keep working together to improve our country! More information
